The “Red Flags” rule was established in January 2008, requiring businesses and organizations to implement a written Identity Theft Prevention Program. The goal is to detect warning signs “red flags” of identity theft in day-to-day operations, Prevent crime, Mitigate damage inflicted through a Proactive approach.
